About
L'Energie fauchée - Rue Roger Salengro
The "L'Energie fauchée" stele is a reproduction of Léon Messiaen's 1915 work.
It depicts a young man withdrawn into himself, seemingly looking to himself for the ultimate resource.
The city of Troyes made this copy from the original plaster in the Musée des Beaux-arts de Troyes. The installation of this work marks the commemoration of the centenary of the 14-18 war, and serves to remind younger generations of this memory, through a work that is emblematic of this period, and of the sacrifice of an entire generation.
