Hôtel d’Autruy

About

This hotel, built around 1560 for Jean Le Boucherat, took on the name it still bears today when it was bought by Jean d'Autruy, mayor of Troyes in 1592 and ennobled by King Henri IV.

The facade, in alternating chalk and brick, is adorned with a beautiful dormer window. The lintel of the entrance door is sculpted: between vases of flowers and fruit, the Autruy family coat-of-arms can be seen around the "hardy cock", the Boucherat emblem.

If you go around the house via rue de la Madeleine, you'll see an attractive five-sided brick and stone tower against the rear façade.
