About

The Saint-Nicolas church is one of the few examples in the Aube region of a church built in the 17th century.

The dense construction of the 16th century, together with the buildings previously erected in the 12th century, avoided many building sites in the 17th century. In fact, Saint-Nicolas was built in 1678 to replace the Romanesque church that once stood here.

The church retains a number of pieces classified as historic monuments, including two 16th-century sculptures: one in oak depicting the education of the Virgin Mary, the other in limestone representing Saint Eloi; a limestone bas-relief also dating from the 16th century, representing Saint Nicolas; and two 18th-century statues, one in oak, a Virgin and Child, and the other in limestone, Saint Claude.
