About
Saint-Martin church is located in the center of the village on the Grande Rue. Built in the 16th century, side aisles were added to the nave between 1879 and 1880.
Some of the church's furnishings are listed as historic monuments, including an 18th-century green silk stole, an 18th-century painted and gilded oak high altar embellished with faux marble, and an oil on canvas dating from 1657.
Les mystères de Rosaire (The Mysteries of the Rosary) features a central image of the Virgin and Child giving a rosary to Saint Dominic, and Christ giving another to Catherine of Siena. Around it, medallions, some inspired by great painters such as Vasari, depict 15 episodes in the lives of Mary and Jesus. Another 19th-century oil on canvas depicts the Adoration of the Shepherds, based on an original by the famous Spanish painter Zurbaran.
