Espace Gérard Philipe / La Grange

The Espace Gérard Philipe is a 301-seat theater.

The remarkable stage-to-arena ratio creates an exceptional relationship between artists and audience. Its vast stage, acoustic qualities and technical equipment (lighting and sound) make it one of the region's leading stages.

The cultural and artistic project is based on :
- Performing arts, with a multi-disciplinary season focusing on contemporary aesthetics for all generations: theater, dance, music, puppetry, circus arts, without excluding other forms of entertainment.
- Promoting the arts of puppetry and object theater.
- Organization of the "Guitares du Monde" festival. (24th edition Bis in March 2021). 5 concerts.
- Discover the circus arts.
- Support for artistic creation. This year: La France coupée en deux by compagnie Aube musagète, La mariée était en noir after W. Irish by Cie FMR, Chagrin d'école after D. Pennac by Théâtre Populaire de Champagne, Nous, l'Europe : banquet des peuples after L. Gaudé by la Strada Cie as part of a nomadic residency in the Aube département with Fédération Départementale des MJC de l'Aube, and C'est coton ! by Cie Gingolph Gateau.
- Partnerships: Festival "Les Nuits de Champagne" with a concert by Tony Melvil and Usmas, Pôle National des Arts du Cirque de Châlons-en-Champagne with Un contre Un, Théâtre de La Madeleine with the shows La vie et la mort de J. Chirac / F. Mitterrand.
- Bringing artists and audiences together through the Petits cabarets de curiosités evening program, with a highlight in November featuring 3 evenings.
- Welcoming companies and artists from the Grand-Est region. This year: La Pêche, Cie des Ô, Théâtre Populaire de Champagne, FMR, Cie des Bestioles, Cie des Animaux en paradis, La Strada Cie, Aube Musagète and Cie Claire Sergent.
- The promotion of amateur practices by making the theater available on advantageous terms and by supporting municipal services, associations and project leaders.

La Grange is what we call "a small venue". Small in terms of capacity (between 70 and 100 people). The La Grange stage is wide open to associative programming: world music, jazz, rock...

Over the course of the season, the Grange will be transformed into an exhibition gallery and concert hall for the "Befores" de la Grange during the Guitares du Monde festival.

The "Les mots sur le Zinc" association offers a program of readings in conjunction with the shows presented as part of the Espace Gérard Philipe season.
