The Investigations of Vidocq
With the aid of a parchment, you can explore the whole estate as you follow a fascinating historical investigation! VIDOCQ will take you on a trail to find the clues hidden in every room of the château, which is still under the shadow of the ghastly happenings there.
When you reach the end of this challenge, you might well find the famous spy’s secret chest and pocket his daily reward…
The castle has had a complete facelift and is a fun, interesting place to visit for the whole family, open all summer up to the end of October.
Now that the extensive conversion and staging work is complete, the estate built by the famous architect of Louis XV (Germain Boffrand) lets visitors take a step back in time.
A few rooms in the château that still show the signs of 80 years of neglect can be visited via a photo exhibition and a film shot by a drone.
Vaux is the castle of the “renaissance”.

Castle rentals
Surrounded by prairies and forests, a majestic avenue over 2 km in length will take you to the gates of the Château de Vaux!
This vast estate, recognised as one of the gems of 18th Century architecture, plays host to numerous weddings every year.
The countryside, a certain way of life and authenticity are the pillars and the spirit of our rentals.
The Barn and our reception areas are located in what used be the estate’s farm, forming a private courtyard and offering a luxurious level of comfort and direct access to the Rooms and Lodges of the castle.
The weddings we host take place against the backdrop of a gigantic barn with magnificent wooden architecture, an Orangery and a large parlour.
Over 80 beds are rented out every weekend, meaning that this idyllic location can be completely privatised and can accommodate the fortunate majority of your guests.
- The Barn (260 m2) can host wedding dinners for up to 240 seated guests – Gorgeous 18th Century wood frame and wrought iron chandeliers.
- The Orangery (110 m2) can host receptions and brunches if the weather is poor – French-style ceiling, terracotta tiles and vases and a large bay window.
- The Castle Lodge (28 beds) can accommodate the families, ushers and bridesmaids for the whole weekend.
- The Common Lodge (60 beds) can accommodate most of the guests on the night of the wedding itself.
Rental of our rooms includes access to our kitchens for your caterer, a large furnished reception room, and a cloakroom and bathroom facilities for your guests.
This means you can privatise the entire estate and access the reception area whenever you like – Private car park and large grass park.
Perfectly located 20 minutes from Troyes, 2 hours from Paris and 1 hour from Reims and Dijon.
You can get to the castle directly via the N71 Troyes-Dijon, 10 minutes from the A5 toll near the little village of Fouchères.
