Orestes taking refuge at the altar of Pallas - Place St Nizier
By Pierre-Charles Simart, a Trojan artist born in 1806 and who died in Paris in 1857.

He was inspired by Aeschylus' version of the story of Orestes.

It is a bronze cast based on a plaster model in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Troyes. The original sculpture was made in Rome in 1838. The marble version is in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen.
