Cast from a plaster model by Alfred Boucher in 1874, now in the Musée des Beaux-Art de Troyes.

Alfred Boucher, born in Nogent-sur-Seine in 1850, was the founder of La Ruche in Montparnasse, which welcomed artists such as Léger, Modigliani, Soutrine and Chagall.
He was also Camille Claudel's first teacher.
He died in 1934 in Aix-les-Bains and is buried in the Nogent-sur-Seine cemetery.
Many of his works are on display at the Musée Camille Claudel in Nogent-sur-Seine.
