The Florentine Singer - Place St Nizier

Work of Paul Dubois, sculptor and painter born in Nogent-Sur-Seine in 1829, died in Paris in 1905 and became a prominent artist at the end of the 19th century.

This sculpture was created after his trip to Italy and received the medal of honour at the Paris Salon in 1863.
It was considered a major work combining the delicacy and elegance of the forms with realistic details.

A gilded bronze copy is on permanent display at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
