Le Chanteur florentin - Place St Nizier

Work by Paul Dubois, a sculptor and painter born in Nogent-Sur-Seine in 1829, who died in Paris in 1905, and one of the most prominent artists of the late 19th century.

This sculpture was created after his trip to Italy, and was awarded the Medal of Honor at the Paris Salon in 1863.
It was considered a major work, combining realistic detail with delicacy and elegance of form.

An example in gilded bronze is on permanent display at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
