Salomon was founded in 1947 in the heart of the French Alps.

Today, Salomon is considered the world leader in trail running and alpine skiing. The company also produces equipment and clothing for snowboarding, hiking and mountaineering, to complement its varied range of running, alpine and Nordic ski products.
These products are developed in the company's design center in Annecy, France, where engineers, designers and athletes collaborate to create new solutions designed to constantly improve the outdoor experience of those for whom nature is a vast playground.
