About
Before the French Revolution, the commune would have been called Paillot, and later retained the revolutionary name of Thennelières.
Part of its territory borders the D619, close to the A26 freeway entrance. The commune is close to the lakes of the Forêt d'Orient, as well as to the shops of Saint-Parres-aux-Tertres and the city of Troyes.
The heart of the village is the St-Léon church, with its famous recumbent statue of Louise de Coligny, the town hall and two schools that cater for CP, CE1 and CE2 pupils from the commune, but also from the communes of Laubressel and Bouranton, which are part of an inter-communal educational grouping.
Since 2011, Thennelières has been home to a "aire de grands passages" for travelers, which can accommodate up to 100 caravans, as well as a methanization plant, Panais Energie, since 2015, both located on the outskirts of the commune, in the direction of Villechétif.
This small rural village, which combines the serenity of the countryside with the proximity of the city, is attractive and a privilege for its residents.
They enjoy meeting and chatting over a book at the reading point, the playground or at the many events organized by local associations.
