About

The commune owes its name, and the name of one of its 2 churches, to a young virgin who lived in the first half of the 9th century and died at the age of twenty-three.

Located in eastern France in the Troyenne conurbation, Sainte-Maure is part of the Creney-près-Troyes canton.
With an altitude of 155 meters, it lies less than 10 km north of the Auboise capital Troyes, on the right bank of the Seine.

Its inhabitants live in the commune of Sainte-Maure and the hamlets of Vannes and Culoison.

The commune's diversified territory includes residential areas, mixed-use zones, farmland and woodland, as well as other very important assets: accessibility and good transport links. The entire heart of the village underwent major works in 2015 and 2016, to improve safety and access to schools and shops. The work also involved refurbishing the parking lot at the Salle polyvalente, itself equipped with a sound limiter, and which is very busy, both for associations and for Mauracians and Aubois in general.

Communal facilities include a soccer pitch, a tennis court, a basketball court, a boulodrome, a fitness trail, an arboretum, an orienteering table, a playground for children aged 3 to 11 and a village hall.

In the school sector, a real desire to constantly modernize the service provided to the youngest children has led to the installation of interactive whiteboards in both nursery and elementary schools. Extracurricular activities, a leisure center, daycare (morning and evening) and a canteen service have also been set up...

Sainte-Maure, which already boasts a renowned inn and a private agricultural high school with AOC status (as well as a farm and cattle ranch), has seen the opening of a number of new businesses, complemented by personal services with the arrival of a beautician, a fish pedicure service and physiotherapists.

But economic development doesn't stop there, as the dynamism of the municipal team has led to the launch of a project to create multi-business premises, which should see the light of day in the coming years.

The commune also boasts a large number of associations, including several sports clubs, notably women's handball, which plays at national level.
