About

The commune of Saint Parres aux Tertres borders Pont-Sainte-Marie, Saint-Julien-les-Villas and Troyes, 4 km from the city center.

It is also 10 minutes from Saint-Thibault (exit 21 on the A5) and 5 minutes from Thennelières (exit 23 on the A26).

The discovery in 1981 of a dozen Gallo-Roman sarcophagi, on display in the museum behind the 16th-century church, proves that the site was occupied by man in the 3rd and 8th centuries. Formerly known as "Mount of the Idols" around 275, where a nobleman, the martyr Patroclus, was executed in the 2nd century. The name Saint Parre is known as early as 1145-1169. The initial name "au-Tertre" became "aux-Tertres".

In 1982, Saint Parres aux Tertres became the first town in France to have a communal dog named Gamin.

The commune boasts 2 listed monuments: the church and a château. It has two elementary school, a kindergarten, a canteen, a leisure center and an inter-company crèche (private/public).
It also boasts a socio-cultural hall that can accommodate 300 people, a conference room, premises for community associations, a library and a sports complex.

The "Asclépiades" institute, opened in 2002, takes care of the re-education and rehabilitation of dependent people. With the EHPAD "Villa du Tertre" and the construction of a number of senior citizens' homes, the commune offers suitable accommodation for the elderly.

Local associations and the municipality offer much-anticipated and much-appreciated cultural events.

With its commercial and craft zones, the town offers a wide range of activities and shops. Following the redevelopment of the Aire des Moissons and its extension in 2013 with the Be Green park, the Saint Parres aux Tertres commercial zone has become the department's 1st commercial hub.
More than 80,000 m² of sales area, no fewer than 85 banners, and a large pedestrian zone with attractive tree-lined areas.
