About
The commune of Laines-aux-Bois is located around ten kilometers from Troyes, in the direction of Auxerre.
"After crossing the freeway bridge coming from Troyes, Laines-aux-Bois comes into view, with a line of wood-covered hills in the background, the very woods that have contributed to our village's name and are one of its treasures." Laines-aux-Bois, Stories and history
The communal territory offers a wide variety of landscapes: agricultural plains, wooded hillsides, vineyards and forests.
Traditional housing, with half-timbered houses, is widely present: many farms have been restored to preserve their authentic character.
Leaving the village on the Voie Libé-Nord, in the direction of Grandes Vallées, hamlet of Laines-aux-Bois, you come to the Monument du Maquis de Montaigu, erected in 1946. Called "Aux quatre de Montaigu", this memorial pays tribute to the Libé-Nord resistance movement during the Second World War.
The proximity of Troyes, where many Laignerans work, the presence of associations that bring life to the village, the landscapes that offer many walks, and the Montaigu site, make our commune a sought-after place to live.
