About

Creney-près-Troyes is located in the northeast of the city, around 6 km from downtown Troyes.

The village, appreciated by its residents for its rural character close to the city, is made up of the town center and the hamlet of Argentolle.

There are many points of interest to discover: the 12th and 16th century church of Saint Aventin, the Château d'Argentolle, its Louis XIII pavilion and the associated marshland, and the commemorative area dedicated to the martyrs of the Resistance executed in February and August 1944.

80% of the area is devoted to cereal growing, and the number of farmers remains high compared with other towns in the greater Troyenne area.

The town also boasts a rich community fabric, with 26 cultural associations (dance, gymnastics, festive events, etc.) and sports associations (soccer, tennis, basketball, judo, etc.), as well as a first-aid center staffed by 14 firefighters.

The village has two nursery and elementary schools with over 200 pupils, and after-school care from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including during school vacations. It has its own sports facilities: gymnasium, soccer stadium, indoor tennis court, as well as a natural multi-activity area, the "Champ de Tir", and an 800 m² socio-cultural space, the Espace Charles de Gaulle. A media library, set up within the elementary school, offers a wide range of activities for the entire population.

Two business parks covering a total of 20 hectares bring economic dynamism and local employment, including a medical-social zone with a retirement home. Most local shops are represented.

To preserve the natural environment of the marsh, which is protected under the Natura 2000 network, the commune has embarked on a process of land acquisition, enabling actions to be taken to protect this site, which is rich in flora and fauna.

Also of note are the Argentolle stream, the Argentolle canal and the Crevautes ditch.
