Mairie de Bouranton

Bouranton is a village located to the east of the Troyes urban area, about 10 km from downtown Troyes.

The village is located roughly in the center of the finage. Its urban fabric is clustered.

The population has always grown slowly. Urban expansion has taken place mainly in the form of housing estates, encouraged by the proximity of the Troyes conurbation.

Although Bouranton is geographically close to the major urban area of the Trojan conurbation, it has historically been linked to the other rural communities of the Forêt d'Orient lakes, and is one of the "gateway" towns of the Forêt d'Orient Nature Park.

For its residents, this privileged location offers the chance to live in the countryside, close to the great lakes, yet just a few kilometers from the business, shopping and services of the Saint-Parres-aux-Tertres commercial zone.

This proximity to the city does not, however, preclude the existence of an active network of associations, helping to preserve the commune's identity (firefighters' association, parents' association of the Regroupement Pédagogique Intercommunal, association of commune elders). The Commune also boasts a number of craftsmen (electricians, earthworkers, plumbers, masons).

A stadium, tennis court, petanque court and village hall, whose kitchen equipment and floors were completely renovated in 2016, are available to residents. All children in the Regroupement Pédagogique Intercommunal de Bouranton, Laubressel et Thennelières can benefit from the school canteen, morning and evening childcare and, since the start of the September 2016 school year, Wednesday afternoon care with lunch.
