About

Bouilly is located 13 km southwest of Troyes, the department's prefecture.

Bouilly welcomes you to a peaceful setting, offering lovers of green tourism the beauty of its landscapes, the charm and calm of its footpaths, including the "Sentier des Moutons" and its historic Site de Montaigu... in the footsteps of our distant ancestors.

The hillside, which overlooks and "protects" the village, is made up of the Bouilly communal forest, covering some 198 hectares, and the undivided Bouilly-Souligny forest, covering some 295 hectares, all of which is exploited and maintained.

Long the administrative center of a canton, Bouilly became part of the RICEYS canton in March 2015, following the new territorial divisions.

Bouilly, which opens the gateway to the "Pays d'Othe" to the west, is characterized by its rustic habitat, wooded hills, Champagne savarts and fruity cider from local orchards.

To the east and north, the Troyes plain stretches along the Seine. The flat, chalky landscape is covered by vast stretches of farmland, mainly planted with cereal crops, but also dotted with a string of springs. In the southern part of the canton, in the Champagne humide region, small, welcoming villages with mixed farming and cattle breeding border the large Chaourçois forest. Bouilly is also close to the Forêt d'Orient regional nature park and lakes, around 17 km away.
