About
Aubeterre is a village located 15 km north of Troyes. The origin of its name comes from Alba terra, meaning white earth.
The local council has decided to renovate the parish church, known as the "Church of the Purification of the Virgin", which is part of the village's heritage.
This centuries-old religious building needs to be refurbished in the two most damaged areas. The corner of the turret and nave (behind the south side) and the west buttress of the north transept (damaged side). The work will be carried out in several phases: cutting and laying of plain stone facing "molded and hard on bedrock", repair of joints, resumption of tiled buttress head, washing and brushing of facing.
There's also a farmhouse, once a coaching inn.
In this rural commune, farmers mainly grow cereals.
The schools are in RPI with the communes of Voué and Montsuzain (nursery, elementary, canteen and daycare).
Inhabitants have access to a village hall, a playground and a boulodrome.
There are a number of shops and craftsmen in the commune: a hairdressing salon and two home hairdressers . an artist decorator . a metal works, locksmiths, window and gate fitters, metal carpenters . a bar-restaurant . a provider of agricultural mechanics and pleasure motorcycles . a children's craft workshop, Les fabuleuses créas d'Elo.
A festivities committee, a hunting club and a senior citizens' club keep life lively for local residents.
