About
The Direction Départementale de la Cohésion Sociale et de la Protection des Populations brings together the former deconcentrated services of :
the Direction Départementale de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de la Vie associative, the Direction Départementale des Services Vétérinaires, the Unité Départementale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes, as well as some of the missions previously carried out by the Préfecture and the Direction Départementale des Affaires Sanitaires et Sociales.
It implements public policies relating to :
- Social cohesion
- Population protection
- Finally, it oversees the control of nuisances of animal and agri-food origin through the regulation of classified installations for environmental protection.
The DDCSPP also ensures compliance with competition rules, to promote the development of an open and fair market, monitors compliance with rules on consumer information and fair trade practices, and oversees the physical safety and health of consumers (industrial products and services).
