About
Situated 12 km from Troyes, Prugny is a quiet, residential village in a valley on the edge of the Pays-d'Othe, part of the new Champagne appellation area.
The population is growing steadily, thanks to the town's forest-side setting, which makes it ideal for hiking, cycling and mountain biking, as well as being close to the greater Troyenne area.
Agricultural activity remains important in the commune, and the municipality has improved its living environment by planting trees with a view to sustainable development. It was awarded the 2-flower label in 2005.
Numerous associations are also active in maintaining inter-generational social links.
An educational grouping with the commune of Vauchassis accommodates children from both communes, with nursery classes in Prugny and primary classes in Vauchassis, with canteen, daycare and leisure center.
