About
The village appears in history as Linçon in 1407, Saint-Germain-lez-Troyes in 1466 and Saint-Germain-de-Linçon in 1698.
Legend has it that Saint Germain, bishop of Auxerre, restored a man's life in the commune, which in memory of this miracle took the saint's name.
In addition to the village center, it comprises 3 hamlets: Lépine, Chevillèle and Linçon, and is linked to the center of Troyes by TCAT line no. 5.
Local shops, a weekly Saturday morning market and a bar/restaurant make the village center a lively and dynamic place.
Two doctors, a dental surgeon, a midwife, an osteopath, two physiotherapists, two nurses and a pharmacy are at the service of local residents.
Some thirty businesses, most of them located in the artisanal zone near the town center, contribute to the town's economic activity.
A cultural center whose media library, linked to the agglomeration's media library network, offers not only a wide range of books, but also a variety of year-round activities for all ages.
Dynamic associations offer a wide range of leisure, cultural and sporting activities, not forgetting the fitness trail in rue de Champagne.
A pond of almost 1 ha and its wooded banks offer a meeting place for fishermen and walkers.
